The Founder |

Over the years many have asked me, "How did you get into this line of work?"
The truth is, it evolved over time and by coincidence.
I never said to myself this looks like an easy way to make a dollar.
If that was true I would have pulled out a long time ago.
My history goes back to when I was a boy.
Without giving my age away my first motorcycle was a 1969 Honda Z50A K0 Mini Trail.
With a news paper route and odd jobs, I saved enough to buy it, and wish I still owned it.
My family has been involved in recreational motorsports for decades, and during that time I have owned, ridden and maintained many motorcycles. Over the years I have been a collector of rare parts and motorcycles.
In fact I still own a 1975 rd350b and 1989 rz350w.
In the 70s through to the 80s my father was a Grand Prix Road Racer. As well as a motorcycle mechanic and parts expert and all round great guy!
I grew up around race tracks and worked as a pit crew member which allowed me to meet many legends, such as Roberts, Duhamel, Cecotto, Spencer etc. I was witness to some fantastic and exciting race wins and along with the highs I've also seen lows. Such as being at Mosport the weekend in the late 70s that forced Steve Baker to retire from racing. Ah, the memories of racing grime and dirt with the smell of 2 stroke fumes in the air. This is when I truly fell for the motorcycle and the beauty of the machine. I was hooked.
For me... Graphic arts, design and photography education started as early as high school and also became a true passion. Then working at motorcycle shops and parts suppliers part time, I worked toward a college degree in automotive design.
During 10 years of work experience in industrial design, I began to develop decals for myself, friends and the occasional client in my spare time, as I never lost touch with my motorcycle roots.
By the late 80s early 90s and the age of computer advancement, going digital was in full swing for the Graphic Arts Industry.
In 1995 AFE Graphics was born simply from a demand of clients asking for accurate vintage decal reproductions. With my catalog of designs in hand, the business soon focused on full time decal design and production for motorcycles and snowmobiles, now being 100% of our core business.
Today, my product ships world wide and with over 20 years experience in graphic arts, design, and decal production, I have 1000s of satisfied customers with show winning restorations and a solid repeat customer base. With the advent of the Internet, I have been providing quality product and service for over a decade. AFE Graphics, as one of the first, has helped shape this new type of field for motorcycle restoration.
I have brought together a team of quality people, products and a service second to none. My policy of "Sell no wine before its time!" is not a fast process but clients keep coming back and is the main reason customer satisfaction rate is extremely high. With the use of industry leading software and equipment plus an extensive background knowledge, we know what materials will work and what won't. Don't settle for anything less!
